What is a metal roof?
A metal roof is part of a roofing system made of pieces, tiles, or panels. Similarly, standing seam metal roofs are where two roofs meet together, forming a raised seam. Types of metal roofs include:
- Standing seam
- Exposed fastener
- Concealed fastener
- Metal shingle
- Retrofit and recover
- Curved
What is a roofing envelope?
Metal roofs are an integral part of the roofing envelope which is the physical separator between the inside and outside of a building. It’s designed to provide resistance to air, water, heat, and sound. Our team ensures the building envelope operates correctly by creating metal fabrications that shed water and stand up to other external elements.
Benefits of a MetalTek Standing Seam Roof

Low long-term cost investment
When compared to other roofing materials, metal roofs cost less over time since there is so little maintenance.

Maintenance
If the roof is correctly installed, very little maintenance is required.

Durability
Metal roofs are in a class of their own as it relates to durability, especially when compared to wood, concrete, glass, or plastic. Metal roof materials are also Class A fire-rated and noncombustible, meaning the fire resistance is the highest grade possible. It’s another reason why standing seam roofs are so popular. Our panels are specifically designed and engineered to resist wind loads, ensuring that your standing seam metal roof system endures even the most severe storm.

Longevity
The lifespan of a roof depends on the metal used, but on average most standing seam roofs will last 50+ years without any extreme signs of degradation or corrosion.

Eco-friendly
Metal is highly recyclable, making it a very eco-friendly option.
ES-1 Certified
We Create It, Install It, And Stand Behind It
At MetalTek of Georgia, our edge metal systems have been designed and tested to resist the highest wind load rating in our industry, supported by our *ES-1 Certification.
Roofing systems can fail when the edge or corner of a roof comes loose or completely detaches. Our ES-1 Certification ensures the roof will withstand a certain wind lift requirement, preventing damage or potential leaks.
We stand behind our work by providing a 2-year workmanship guarantee and 20-year paint finish warranty on all components, standard. Because our edge metals are ES-1 certified, they can also be included in the roofing system warranties for up to 30 years.
*ES-1 Certified only applies to drip edge, coping, and gravel stop.
